The Castlepoint Independent Speech and Language Therapy team have been supporting many children across our trust schools. The teams knowledge and skill paired with their passion and enthusiasm has made a significant impact in the lives of the children they have been supporting but also in upskilling staff to provide support on a daily basis.

We contacted Castlepoint early in 2024 when we realised our 3 year old son wasn't making progress with speech. We met Lois who our son immediately connected with. Through play and observation Lois gave us an insight into the way our son was learning language. We were told that our son is a Gestalt Language Processor. This was the starting point on a journey of learning and research for us as parents. When Lois promptly diagnosed our son as being a GLP, it prompted us to get an official assessment as we had concerns that our son was autistic, which it turned out he was. 10 months on, our son has come a very long way and is generating his own sentences. He is going from strength to strength and we are forever grateful to Lois in helping us support him. Thank you very much Lois and Castlepoint.

We've observed an amazing amount of progress with our son's speech, even after the first session! He is 4, and finds the sessions rewarding and (importantly) fun. The team are very welcoming and my son's therapist, Amy, has been extremely supportive. If you are a parent with a child who has speech and language challenges, the team are invested in supporting you, as well as your child. My son's progress is regularly assessed, and new goals and actions are created. At every session, we receive clear guidance on how we can support him at home, and how teachers can support him in school. The resources have been excellent and his school have also found them very helpful. I sincerely recommend Castlepoint.

I cannot thank Lois and Castlepoint enough for everything they have done for my 4 year old son. He is autistic and a Gestalt Language Processor, and support regarding this is very limited and misunderstood in the NHS. Lois very quickly provided us with the necessary tools to support our son, and in just a short few months, she has finally given him a voice 🥹 Our son absolutely adores Lois, and she has unearthed a side to him that we knew was there, but just didn't know how to access. Their relationship is pure and authentic and an absolute joy to watch. He is a completely different child now he has the ability to communicate his needs more thoroughly and it's all thanks to you guys!

Lois has been so wonderful with my non verbal daughter, she has actually started to communicate using ALD boards! Lois set up the school and home environments for us. I can't recommend her enough.

We are so happy with the service that we received. The therapist assigned to us was just wonderful, our three year old loved her and responded so well to her sessions. We were thoroughly assessed, we had goals set out and we’re reassessed at key points through our journey. Our little ones speech delay would not have come on so much if it wasn’t for Castlepoint’s work and we couldn’t be any more grateful. I would happily recommend them to anyone who has concerns over their child’s speech.

Amy was brilliant with my 4 year old and really helped her overcome some speech issues. She is knowledgeable, friendly and put my mind at ease during the assessment and ongoing sessions. My daughter loved going to see Amy who made it really fun and engaging.

Amazing experience 🤗 When my daughter first came to Amy she was able to say only couple of short words (bus,cat) After a year working together she has made significant changes. Now my daughter's vocabulary is flourishing and she's able to communicate. I accredit this to Amy's work and guidance which are a large part to that success 🙌 She's been incredible therapist for my daughter and we been lucky to work with her.
