Mark cleaned and repointed the brickwork on the front of my house in September ‘23. The final result was excellent, as the photos show. He protected my windows and my neighbours property. I would definitely recommend.

Mark has been an absolute LEGEND! He kept me informed throughout and explained everything he was doing and why. His work is excellent - he really knows his stuff- and before he finished for the day he’d clean everything down. He was also very considerate to my neighbours and ensured they were happy with the work being done too. If any mess was created on their side of the fence he’d clean that up as well! I had Mark arrive to give me a price to repoint my bungalow and due to his quality of work he was very busy, but he managed to fit us in and what a beautiful job he did for us!! He also helped with a few “extra jobs” that we couldn’t get trade out to do (all been there!!) He is on time and works cleanly. We couldn’t recommend Mark highly enough. His quality of work is exceptional!!

Mark carried out repointing to areas of our 3 bed semi-detached property in Upminster. He repointed the front with the gable, the side including the chimney stack, including replacing badly repaired bricks to the chimney breast and the back (bottom half only). He also repaired the end of the front garden wall and laid new coping stones along the full length of the wall. All the repointing work was carried out using a cement mortar and finished with a weatherstruck joint in a grey colour. Mark is thoroughly efficient, honest and capable. He gave us a very good service and much good advice, which resulted in some valuable builder contacts. He is also a nice man, and this makes me all the more grateful to him for carrying out the works at our property.We are delighted with his work and it was a pleasure doing business with him.

During the purchase of a Victorian house in Colchester we were advised that the whole house would need to be re-pointed. We spoke to a number of trades about the project, and their approach, one of which was MA Jones. From the first inspection Mark’s approach, understanding and passion for pointing was far superior to everyone else that came to evaluate the property. His advice was clear and measured, he even offered to come and perform a sample section so we could see his work before committing to the project. We elected to use MA Jones for the work and it was one of the best decisions we made throughout all of the house renovation work. Mark’s standard of work is extremely high. He takes his time to complete the work properly and is more than happy to talk through his approach. On more than one occasion he went well above and beyond what was expected in order to give us the best finish possible. Mark is also a great guy to have around. He is extremely approachable, and it was a pleasure to have him work on the house. If you have a re-pointing project, my advice is to trust Mark and use MA Jones. His quality of work is well worth the wait and investment.

Mark is a highly skilled, professional and takes enormous pride in his work, which was of exceptional quality. He goes above and beyond in helping sort out other problems uncovered during the work, and is very good at cleaning up afterwards. He has transformed an old red brick stable block and one remaining wall of our house that needed repointing. Our only regret is that we didn’t find him earlier to do the whole house! He is a real pleasure to have around, always communicated well and is very considerate. We recommend Mark without any hesitation to anyone that needs brickwork repairs/cleaning and re-pointing. I contacted M A Jones regarding helibar repair we had been advised we needed. Mark got back to me the next day & I instantly got the impression he knew his stuff. Mark arranged to come round to take a look at the issue, he provided us with a detailed quote later that day but was honest & upfront about his workload & timescale which I really appreciated. So glad we waited & didn’t chance getting somebody else in as the job Mark has done is top notch. Turned up on time, got stuck in straight away. He was happy to explain different points of the process when I stuck my head out which was great. He made light work of what we needed doing & wanting do the job properly he also tackled a few other little problems areas that had caught his eye all while sticking to the original quote. Top man. Top Job would not hesitate to recommend.

We had the rear wall of our house repointed last November. The work was completed in about a week and to a very high standard. We are so pleased with the standard of the work and with our experience of working with Mark that we have asked him to repoint the rest of the house. Needless to say we would not be asking Mark to do this if we were not completely satisfied with the work that he has already done. We have no hesitation in recommending him.

Can’t rate Mark highly enough. Offered professional advice, including options re mortar. Turned up when he said he would and offered competitive quote. You pay for what you get, and in Mark’s case this meant quality finish. Only downside was he kept refusing my offer of mugs of tea, which is probably why he got the job done in good time :-) excellent all round. Westcliff-On-Sea.

Hello, would like to share the experience that I've had dealing with Mark Jones at repointing uk. Mark's pointing videos and his knowledge of the use of lime mortars have been very helpful. We have a 250 year old house up on the Yorkshire/ Nottinghamshire border which has needed grinding out and fully repointing (500/600 mtrs). With the experience and help Mark has given - we would gladly have given him the work of undertaking the complete job - without looking any further. Unfortunately we are too far North - and out of his area!!!! - however his tips and personal help have been invaluable. A very hands on time served guy!!
